Curry at the Griffin, Why not?

This evening we will be launching a curry night. Hopefully this will turn out to be permanent fixture at the Griffin. We want to stand apart from other pubs that do curries by offering real authentic homemade dishes. There will be no ready made sauces or bought in curry pastes, everything will be made from scratch starting with a store cupboard full of whole spices and a trusty spice grinder.

Our new chef Martin has spent a lot of time in the Far East and as such has picked up a lot of inspiration from his time overseas. When telling me about the basic store cupboard ingredients needed to get our curry night up and running there were some interesting sounding spices and one or two I had not even heard of! Asafoetida perhaps…

So the Curry night starts tonight and the offer is a choice of two curries, three side, papadums and a drink all for £10.

This evening’s delights will be chicken Madras, Cambodian vegetable curry, homemade onion bhaji, masala beans and chilli & tamarind potatoes.
